MicroGear™ FAQs
Q1: Does MicroGear control the Tail Wheel on a taildragger like the Corsair?
A1: Yes. There is an output dedicated to the tail wheel.
Q2: Will MicroGear control a system with mixed air and servo based control of the landing gear?
A2: Yes. It can support either air or servo based doors and either air or servo based gear. For example, an aircraft with air main gears and servo based doors can support a servo based tail wheel by connecting a retract servo to the main gear output. You could also drive the tail wheel using a standard servo connected to the main door outputs, but you will not have a separate end-point adjustment for the tailwheel. This is easily overcome by careful mechanical installation and the appropriate choice of servo arms and linkage. Both main gear must be of the same type, either air or servos.
Q3: Are both the door speeds and the gear speeds adjustable?
A3: For servo based installations, both speeds are adjustable. For air installations, the use of in-line restrictors or adjustable rate valves is required to control the rate of movement.
Q4: Can I connect a switch to both the main gear and the tail gear to prevent the doors from closing before all the gear are up?
A4: Yes, you can connect the switches in series as shown in the manual.
